++ About this release ++
Long mixing religious themes with medieval fantasy and storytelling, Animae Capronii is a black / "unblack metal" project from Italy. Sometimes raw and brutal, and other times atmospheric and thoughtful, the project underwent a change in 2008 when Kalrog Naar (now simply going by his real name Cesare) began to replace the occult themes of his past releases, with more personal and serious lyrics about his Christian faith. This particular album was released in early 2009, about a year after this transition started. Now updated in 2020 with remastered audio and all new artwork, this album is sure to strike a chord with anyone who enjoys underground, obscure, "trve", and heartfelt black metal. (Edit: Please note there's a mistake in the album inlay. I said that Cesare made the logo. Actually his friend Dar Geio Crogior made it.)

In terms of Christian bands, fans of Exultet, Phanerosis, Order of Splendour, and Santuario (pre-Darkaliel) will likely enjoy this.

In terms of secular bands, fans of Apolion's Genocide, Primeval Chaos, Samhain (Bulgaria), Tears of Ea, Nócturnal Aar, etc will enjoy this. Basically if you're a dedicated black metal fan and know any of those atmospheric/gothic-tinged demo tapes from the late 90s, then you don't even need Animae Capronii explained to you! You know 100% exactly what to expect here.
